13-month résumé gap, advice? - what worked for you?

My résumé shows a gap from a layoff and some health issues. There are 7 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have done some volunteering and a course during that time. How did you handle it on your résumé?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

A short, honest line such as 'family caregiving' is enough for most employers. They mostly want to know you are ready now.
