12-month résumé gap, advice? (Tucson)

I took time out to care for a family member after working as a nurse's aide. Any experience at all would help. I am not sure how much to explain. What do you say in interviews?

I was hired after a 12-month gap. The manager said the skills test mattered more than the dates.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
