12-month résumé gap, advice? (Detroit)

I have been out of work for 12 months and worry about the gap. I worked as a forklift operator before this. I am not sure how much to explain. How did you handle it on your résumé?

I was hired after a 12-month gap. The manager said the skills test mattered more than the dates.
