12-month résumé gap, advice? - any advice?

I have been out of work for 12 months and worry about the gap. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I am not sure how much to explain. Did anyone get past it?

A short, honest line such as 'family caregiving' is enough for most employers. They mostly want to know you are ready now.
