12-month résumé gap, advice? - 5 weeks in

My résumé shows a gap from a layoff and some health issues. I do not usually post, so bear with me. I have done some volunteering and a course during that time. What do you say in interviews?

A short, honest line such as 'family caregiving' is enough for most employers. They mostly want to know you are ready now.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
