11-month résumé gap, advice? - what worked for you?

I took time out to care for a family member after working as a production planner. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I am not sure how much to explain. How did you handle it on your résumé?

I was hired after a 11-month gap. The manager said the skills test mattered more than the dates.
