11-month résumé gap, advice? - 8 weeks in

I have been out of work for 11 months and worry about the gap. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I have done some volunteering and a course during that time. How did you handle it on your résumé?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
