10-month résumé gap, advice? - what worked for you?

I took time out to care for a family member after working as a warehouse supervisor. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I have done some volunteering and a course during that time. Did anyone get past it?

Keep your skills fresh and mention anything recent. It shows momentum.

A short, honest line such as 'family caregiving' is enough for most employers. They mostly want to know you are ready now.
