Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? - what worked for you?

I have been applying to about 9 jobs a week as a software tester, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. I am in Dallas, in case local advice matters. Some days I only network by email or attend a job fair. Do interviews and workshops count?
