Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? - what worked for you?

I am keeping a spreadsheet of applications, but I worry it is not what the agency expects. It has been weighing on me all week. I also did a résumé workshop at the library. Do interviews and workshops count?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

Screenshots of the submitted application are handy backup when a posting disappears.
