Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? - what worked for you?

I have been applying to about 9 jobs a week as an event coordinator, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. I worked as an event coordinator before this. I also did a résumé workshop at the library. Do interviews and workshops count?

I record the date, the company, the job title, how I applied and any contact name. It takes a minute each and it covered me when I was asked for proof.

I was asked for my log once, after six months. Having it in a spreadsheet made it painless.
