Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? - what worked for you?

I am keeping a spreadsheet of applications, but I worry it is not what the agency expects. It has been a long 15 weeks. Some days I only network by email or attend a job fair.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
