Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? - what worked for you?

I have been applying to about 13 jobs a week as an electrician's helper, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. I have been trying to stay organised about it. Some days I only network by email or attend a job fair. What do you record?

I record the date, the company, the job title, how I applied and any contact name. It takes a minute each and it covered me when I was asked for proof.
