Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? (update)

I have been applying to about 16 jobs a week as a customer-service rep, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. This is my first time dealing with any of this. My state says to keep records for a year. Do interviews and workshops count?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
