Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? (update)

I have been applying to about 6 jobs a week as a home health aide, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. I worked as a home health aide before this. My state says to keep records for a year. Do interviews and workshops count?

I record the date, the company, the job title, how I applied and any contact name. It takes a minute each and it covered me when I was asked for proof.

I was asked for my log once, after six months. Having it in a spreadsheet made it painless.
