Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be?, retail manager here

I have been applying to about 9 jobs a week as a retail manager, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. Some days I only network by email or attend a job fair.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
