Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be?, marketing coordinator here

I am keeping a spreadsheet of applications, but I worry it is not what the agency expects. There are 10 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. Some days I only network by email or attend a job fair. Has anyone been audited?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 5 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
