Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? (Fresno)

I have been applying to about 8 jobs a week as a data-entry clerk, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. I worked as a data-entry clerk before this. My state says to keep records for a year. What do you record?

I was asked for my log once, after six months. Having it in a spreadsheet made it painless.
