Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be?

I have been applying to about 8 jobs a week as a retail manager, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. It has been weighing on me all week. Some days I only network by email or attend a job fair. Do interviews and workshops count?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 7 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
