Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be?

I have been applying to about 17 jobs a week as an accountant, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. Any experience at all would help. My state says to keep records for a year. Do interviews and workshops count?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

Screenshots of the submitted application are handy backup when a posting disappears.
