Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? - any advice?

I have been applying to about 12 jobs a week as an HR coordinator, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. I am in Austin, in case local advice matters. Some days I only network by email or attend a job fair.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
