Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? - any advice?

I am keeping a spreadsheet of applications, but I worry it is not what the agency expects. I do not usually post, so bear with me. My state says to keep records for a year. Do interviews and workshops count?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
