Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? after 9 years as a medical assistant

I am keeping a spreadsheet of applications, but I worry it is not what the agency expects. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I also did a résumé workshop at the library. Do interviews and workshops count?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
