Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? after 9 years as a data-entry clerk

I am keeping a spreadsheet of applications, but I worry it is not what the agency expects. Any experience at all would help. My state says to keep records for a year.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
