Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? after 7 years as a software tester

I am keeping a spreadsheet of applications, but I worry it is not what the agency expects. Thank you in advance. I also did a résumé workshop at the library. What do you record?

I was asked for my log once, after six months. Having it in a spreadsheet made it painless.
