Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? after 6 years as a welding apprentice

I am keeping a spreadsheet of applications, but I worry it is not what the agency expects. Thank you in advance. My state says to keep records for a year. What do you record?

I was asked for my log once, after six months. Having it in a spreadsheet made it painless.
