Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? after 5 years as an IT help-desk technician

I am keeping a spreadsheet of applications, but I worry it is not what the agency expects. I also did a résumé workshop at the library. What do you record?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
