Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? after 10 years as a line cook

The certification asks how many work-search activities I did and I do not know what qualifies. Any experience at all would help. My state says to keep records for a year. Do interviews and workshops count?

I was asked for my log once, after six months. Having it in a spreadsheet made it painless.
