Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be?

I have been applying to about 3 jobs a week as a bank teller, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. It has been a long 6 weeks. My state says to keep records for a year. Has anyone been audited?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 4 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
