Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? - 7 months and counting

I have been applying to about 17 jobs a week as a social media manager, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. It has been a long 24 weeks. I also did a résumé workshop at the library. What do you record?

I record the date, the company, the job title, how I applied and any contact name. It takes a minute each and it covered me when I was asked for proof.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
