Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be?

I have been applying to about 17 jobs a week as an administrative assistant, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. It has been weighing on me all week. My state says to keep records for a year.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
