Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? - 5 months and counting

I am keeping a spreadsheet of applications, but I worry it is not what the agency expects. This is my first time dealing with any of this. Some days I only network by email or attend a job fair. Has anyone been audited?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
