Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? - 13 months and counting

I am keeping a spreadsheet of applications, but I worry it is not what the agency expects. I worked as a dental hygienist before this. My state says to keep records for a year. What do you record?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 13 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

I was asked for my log once, after six months. Having it in a spreadsheet made it painless.
