Work-search log: how detailed does it need to be? - 10 months and counting

I am keeping a spreadsheet of applications, but I worry it is not what the agency expects. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. Some days I only network by email or attend a job fair. Has anyone been audited?
