What counts as a work search for weekly certification? - what worked for you?

I have been applying to about 12 jobs a week as a web developer, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I also did a résumé workshop at the library. Has anyone been audited?
