What counts as a work search for weekly certification? (update)

I am keeping a spreadsheet of applications, but I worry it is not what the agency expects. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. My state says to keep records for a year. Do interviews and workshops count?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
