What counts as a work search for weekly certification? (Buffalo)

I have been applying to about 3 jobs a week as a welding apprentice, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. Any experience at all would help. My state says to keep records for a year. Do interviews and workshops count?

I was asked for my log once, after six months. Having it in a spreadsheet made it painless.

I record the date, the company, the job title, how I applied and any contact name. It takes a minute each and it covered me when I was asked for proof.
