What counts as a work search for weekly certification? - any advice?

I am keeping a spreadsheet of applications, but I worry it is not what the agency expects. This is my first time dealing with any of this. My state says to keep records for a year. What do you record?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
