Waiting 9 weeks on my first unemployment payment - what worked for you?

I applied for unemployment in St. Louis 9 weeks ago and the status page still says pending. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I called the state line four times and only reached a recording. What would you check first?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
