Waiting 7 weeks on my first unemployment payment - any advice?

I filed my claim 7 weeks ago after being let go as a teaching assistant. I worked as a teaching assistant before this. I answered every question and uploaded my final pay stub. What would you check first?

When I finally got through, the agent said my employer had responded late. Once that cleared, back pay came in one payment.
