Waiting 6 weeks on my first unemployment payment (Raleigh)

I was laid off as a data-entry clerk and filed right away, and I have been certifying every week. Any experience at all would help. I called the state line four times and only reached a recording. What would you check first?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 13 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Mine took about 6 weeks because of an identity check I did not notice. Look for a message or a letter you may have missed in your online account.
