Waiting 5 weeks on my first unemployment payment (Madison)

I filed my claim 5 weeks ago after being let go as a machine operator. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I called the state line four times and only reached a recording. Has anyone been through this? How long did it take in the end?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 4 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
