Waiting 5 weeks on my first unemployment payment - 8 months and counting

I applied for unemployment in Omaha 5 weeks ago and the status page still says pending. There are 17 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I called the state line four times and only reached a recording. What would you check first?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

Mine took about 5 weeks because of an identity check I did not notice. Look for a message or a letter you may have missed in your online account.
