Waiting 23 weeks on my first unemployment payment - 23 weeks in

I applied for unemployment in Knoxville 23 weeks ago and the status page still says pending. I called the state line four times and only reached a recording. Is there a step I could have missed?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 7 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
