SNAP recertification with changing income - first time posting

I lost my job as a mechanic and my household is applying for SNAP for the first time. Any experience at all would help. The caseworker asked for bank statements too. Is there an expedited option for people with very little income?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
