SNAP recertification with changing income

I lost my job as a payroll clerk and my household is applying for SNAP for the first time. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. The caseworker asked for bank statements too. Did they ask for anything unexpected?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
