SNAP recertification with changing income - any advice?

I lost my job as a nurse's aide and my household is applying for SNAP for the first time. There are 12 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. There are 12 people in my household. Is there an expedited option for people with very little income?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 8 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
