SNAP recertification with changing income - any advice?

My SNAP recertification is coming up and my income changed a lot since my layoff. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. The caseworker asked for bank statements too.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
