Severance and unemployment, do they overlap?, hotel front-desk agent here

I was offered severance of 14 weeks after being let go as a hotel front-desk agent and I am unsure how it affects benefits. Thank you in advance. I have a mortgage and need to plan. Who should I ask before signing?
