Severance and unemployment, do they overlap? - first time posting

I signed a severance agreement and I am worried about how to report it. This is my first time dealing with any of this. I have a mortgage and need to plan. Who should I ask before signing?

I filed on day one anyway and reported the severance honestly. The agency decided what to do about the timing.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
